This project entailed a comprehensive renovation and addition to an original family home, a rear split rancher with a dated exterior and closed floor plan over three half-levels. The design brief focused on modernizing the exterior while preserving the traditional charm preferred by our clients. By integrating contemporary design elements, we achieved a more refined and balanced facade that both updated and honoured its original character.

 

The addition expanded the home with a private and elegant primary suite featuring a fully-loaded ensuite and walk-in closets. A large family room and den were incorporated to enhance the home's livability and create flexible spaces for everyday family life. Exterior updates featured a cohesive new color palette for the multi-color brick siding, complemented by traditional architectural detailing. In the landscaped outdoor area, we introduced a pool with a sunning platform and an integrated hot tub, bridged to the interior with outdoor dining and a generous covered outdoor living room, providing the ultimate space for entertaining friends and family. The design also included a two-car garage and outdoor storage, meeting the functional needs of their new outdoor amenities. Inside, the home now hosts four bedrooms, a guest suite, and a dedicated music room. The result is a beautifully updated home that balances modern living with traditional style.
